General Library Rules

  • All FPGDST and PGDIS students, Alumni members, Individual members, Technical Affiliates and Reference members should wear their Identity cards when they enter the library, failing which they will not be allowed to use the library facilities.

     

  • Library Membership is non-transferable.
  • If a cheque is dishonoured, Rs.100/- will be charged as fine.
  • Books can be borrowed only after 15 days in case where the payment is made by cheque.
  • Books will be issued only on presentation of a Library Card.
  • Books can be renewed only once. The same book can be borrowed after 15 days.
  • Books must be returned on or before the due date, failing which a fine of Re.1/- per day will be charged for the first 15 days, Rs.5/- per day for the next 15 days and thereafter, Rs.10/- will be charged per day.
  • Books/Journals etc. removed from the shelves should not be placed back, but left on reading tables.
  • Reference material should not be taken out of the library.
  • If the Library Card is lost, Rs.15/- will be charged for a issue of duplicate.
  • Please check the book before borrowing. If a book is torn, soiled due to rain, stained due to photocopying or loose from binding, this should be reported to the library staff at the counter. Borrower is responsible for the condition of the book while returning.
  • A minimum fine of Rs.500/- will be charged for any book damaged due to photocopying, rains, stains, torn, loose binding or plastic cover of the books being removed or torn.
  • Library members who have paid deposit, should claim their deposit amount within one year from the date of expiry of their membership failing which the amount will be forfeited.
  • If a book is lost or damaged, the borrower must replace the book, or in case of non-availability, pay the cost at the rate then prevailing, or the original rate, whichever is higher.
  • All library members are expected to read the notice board for library timings and other facilities.
  • A member is expected to be fully aware of the code of conduct and responsible behaviour. Any breach of the code of conduct or any irresponsible behaviour on the use of Library facilities will invite disciplinary action
